How to run SketchUp on a VPS

Pick a plan and an image

Choose a plan — Standard 1 (4 vCPU, 4 GB) or Standard 2 (4 vCPU, 6 GB) — and select the OS image for your SketchUp installation and remote access.

Install the OS yourself

Through the panel you deploy the chosen OS on a KVM server yourself — the configuration stays fully under your control.

Connect over remote desktop or the KVM console, install SketchUp with V-Ray and plugins, and upload your projects.

We will suggest a plan for your model complexity and rendering load: how much RAM, how many vCPU and how much NVMe space for textures. For graphics acceleration we quote a GPU configuration separately.

The base plans focus on vCPU, RAM and NVMe. For graphics and render acceleration we quote a GPU configuration separately.

SketchUp models themselves are light, but V-Ray texture and asset libraries grow fast: plan for 120 GB of NVMe and up — that is Standard 5.

For modelling over RDP, 8 vCPU and 12 GB are enough — Standard 5 at €13.99/mo. Heavy models with extensions are more comfortable on 16 GB (Power 1, €17.99).

LayOut works normally, and so does V-Ray in CPU mode — rendering runs on the server cores. GPU rendering requires a configuration with a graphics card.

Yes, through separate Windows accounts: everyone works in their own session, with files kept in a shared folder on the server.

You deploy the system yourself: pick a Windows Server image and install it through the panel. If anything goes wrong, the KVM console gives access to the server as if it were a physical machine.
